High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid Driver's License in state of residence with 3 years driving history. Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record with no type A violation; or no more than (1) type B violation in past (3) years. Previous experience operating a commercial motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 10,001 lbs. or more. Read, comprehend, write, perform calculations, input accurately, reason, and analyze. Function independently, completing various tasks accurately with close attention to detail.
Physical Requirements: Frequent driving is required in all types of weather conditions. Must adhere to the proper safety regulations since there will be occasional exposure to events such as excessive noise and moving machinery. Frequently walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, pushing, pulling, and reaching. Regular handling of objects and lifting of up to 75 pounds. Physically qualified to drive a motor vehicle by the medical qualification standards in Sec. 391.41. A Department of Transportation physical exam will be conducted by a licensed medical examiner. The USDOT's Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulation, 49 CFR Part 40, at 40.151(e), does not authorize 'medical marijuana' under state law as a valid medical explanation for a transportation employee's positive drug test result.
